I am looking forward to meeting you all next week for the sensor workshop. As well as the lectures and workshop time we will be doing at least one field trip and will enjoy guest lectures and performances of state of the art sensor instruments including David Wessel's new instrument introduced at NIME2007 last month.
1) Get plenty of sleep -specially if you are taking more than one of our several summer classes.
2) Explore the web for ideas and questions about the kind of thing you plan to do with sensors. There is a lot more going on than these academic projects but this is a good start
and mostly there is free pdf of the proceedings:

If your computer doesn't have bluetooth, buy and test a cheap $10-$20 bluetooth usb dongle (or card)
Gather any controllers or materials you have in mind to work on in the lab.
3) If you haven't already installed it download Max/MSP and Jitter from Cycling74. The month free trial will take you beyond the sensor class.
