The problem is there are no compelling applications that I have seen, unless you think that using both hands to sort a pile of virtual photographs into an album once the computer has randomized them like a stack of cards makes any sense.
It is hard to make useful musical applications (e.g. drum circle) with this technology because of the slowness of the IR camera and the lack of spatial audio opportunities in this form factor. On the other hand there have to be some really interesting visual art possibilities because this is currently the only affordable way to do large multipoint touch with a screen.
